Well Ju ? Simple Ways to Fight Prostate Cancer

Cancer has become the evil of all evils. It?s hard to find anyone in the world that hasn?t been touched in some way, shape or form by the dreaded disease. It does not discriminate nor is it bias. It is not selective; and it is anything but compassionate.

Early Screening/Early Detection

The best way to get a handle on prostate or any other type of cancer is early detection and treatment. Prostate procedures involved in the early screening consist of a not altogether pleasant prostate exam. Whereas it may be slightly unpleasant, it is so very necessary to get a jump on the deadly disease in order to beat it. And cancer can be beaten. Just how common is prostate cancer? A study found that in men that reach the age of 80 years old, a good 80% of them actually have prostate cancer. The good news is that many of the cancers discovered were of such a slow growing nature that they did not warrant concern. With early detection however, doctors can examine the type of cancer in depth to decide exactly how fast it is spreading and how it may be growing; and of course the best way to treat it.

Just Because Dad Had It Doesn?t Mean You Will

Prostate cancer has yet to be linked to any kind of hereditary factor unless multiple cases of it have been discovered in the bloodline. If multiple cases in a family lineage do exist it can serve as an early warning sign for doctors to keep an eye on things. Of course you can do more than just receive early detection and treatment; exercising, eating healthy by avoiding fats and absolutely steering clear of smoking are essential ways in which we can help to win the fight against cancer. Prostate cancer can be somewhat difficult to detect. A blood test known as the PSA test is helpful but not singularly responsible for diagnosis. Biopsies submitted to microscopic examination will help determine whether tissue is benign or malignant.

At approximately 40 years of age it?s a good idea for men to begin screening for prostate cancer though men over 65 are usually those most affected. Eating healthy and annual examinations by your doctor to help keep your body fit and healthy are imperative. Make no mistake; this is a battle. This is a battle that we can never hope to win unless we arm ourselves with every available weapon that technology and medical science have provided.
