9:00 PM: Baltimore Ravens defensive end Terrell Suggs challenged Denver Broncos defensive tackle Justin Bannan to a fight during Saturday's game, but Suggs convinced the ref not to throw a penalty flag by saying he & Bannan were friends.

8:45 PM: The Arizona Cardinals have reportedly hired Bruce Arians as their new head coach. Arians has served as offensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts & was interim head coach while Chuck Pagano underwent treatment for leukemia.

8:30 PM: USC has reportedly hired Clancy Pendergast as the Trojans' new defensive coordinator. Pendergast takes over for Monte Kiffin, who resigned at the end of the season but is now defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys.

8:15 PM: The Florida Gators have promoted D.J. Durkin to defensive coordinator after Dan Quinn left to take the same job with the Seattle Seahawks.

8:00 PM: The New York Yankees say they have avoided arbitration with Joba Chamberlain by signing the pitcher to a one-year deal.

7:45 PM: Kobe Bryant topped LeBron James in getting the most votes for this year's All-Star Game to be held in Houston on February 17. Bryant also set a new record by being selected for his 15th straight All-Star Game.

7:30 PM: Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman announced Thursday that defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli will not return next season. And the Chicago Tribune's Vaughn McClure reports that Bears offensive coordinator Mike Tice has been let go.

7:15 PM: After serving as Arkansas Razorbacks receivers coach for about a month, George McDonald has left to become offensive coordinator at Syracuse.

7:00 PM: Jacksonville Jaguars running backs coach & former Mississippi State head coach Sylvester Croom is leaving to become the Tennessee Titans' new RBs coach.

6:45 PM: Notre Dame defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore tweets that the anonymous teammate who talked to Pepper On Sports about Manti Te'o's fake girlfriend "is really a punk."

6:00 PM: A U.S. District Court judge has dismissed the defamation lawsuit filed by New Orleans Saints LB Jonathan Vilma against NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

5:45 PM: The New England Patriots officially placed TE Rob Gronkowski on injured reserve on Thursday. Gronkowski re-injured his arm during last Sunday's playoff win against the Houston Texans.
