When Apple released the iPad Mini last November, it received high praise from reviewers, but with one downfall: it had a low resolution display. Ever since then, rumors have been swirling about the possibility of a Retina iPad Mini. According to a new report from CNET, an iPad Mini with a much higher resolution display will be released in the second half of 2013, based on supply chain data. According to the report, the Retina iPad Mini will feature a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536. On the device?s 7.9-inch display, that equates to a pixel density of 324 ppi. LG Display looks to be the main candiate to produce the panel, but AU Optronics, Japan Display, and Sharp are also possibilities.
